Some of these tools have paid for versions allowing further functionality but this list is designed to assist those without paid for tools open various file formats for viewing (and in some cases other functionality such as commenting or clash detection).

In what was seen as an unusual step for a maker of high-end business software, Autodesk began offering AutoCAD LT 2012 for Mac through the Apple Mac App Store. Also part of PSEB is the Autodesk Consumer Product Group, which was created in November 2010 to generate interest in 3-D design and 'foster a new wave of designers who hunger for. Autodesk Navisworks Freedom software is the free 3D viewer for files in Autodesk Navisworks NWD format. The following free viewers can be used to review a variety of common model and file formats.
